Taylor Swift arrebatou três grammys e fez um discurso sobre perseveração, ao passo que Bruno Mars recebeu das mãos de Beyoncé o Grammy de Gravação do Ano com Uptown Funk.
A melhor performance Pop solo foi arrebatada por Ed Sheeran com Thinking Out Loud, enquanto Justin Bieber levava para casa o seu primeiro Grammy fruto da parceria com Skrillex and Diplo.
The Weeknd foi a grande revelação da noite, levando para casa dois Grammys.
Os Grammy Awards 2016 contaram com actuações de Adele, a homenagem de Lady GaGa a David Bowie, The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar, Ellie Goulding and Andra Day, Alabama Shakes, Little Big Town, Carrie Underwood and Sam Hunt, Tori Kelly and James Bay, Justin Bieber e a homenagem a Lionel Richie por Demi Lovato, Meghan Trainor, John Legend and Luke Bryan.
